I Am American, Jewish, and Banned From Israel for My Activism

This month, the Israeli government announced that activists. including Codepink, would be banned from entering Israel due to support for the nonviolent boycott, divestment and sanctions (BDS) movement.

This month, the Israeli government announced that activists affiliated with 20 organizations, including my organization Codepink, would be banned from entering Israel and the occupied Palestinian territories because of our support for the nonviolent boycott, divestment and sanctions (BDS) movement for Palestinian rights. As a Jew, this causes me

To Assassinate Arafat, Israel’s Mossad Planned To Blow Up Passenger Plane

Israeli journalist Ronen Bergman’s just-published book «‘Rise and Kill First: The secret history of Israel’s targeted killings» details Israeli plans to assassinate Yasser Arafat, including a plot to blow up passenger plane and a football stadium.

For years, many had speculated - for which they were promptly cast as tinfoil hat conspiracy theorists - that when it comes to achieving illegal goals, including but not limited to creating "false flag" terrorism and political assassinations, few are as skilled and industrious as the CIA and Mossad. Especially Mossad. Only, as so often happens,

The Democratic Party’s Grim Metaphor: Tom Perez

Tom Perez’s lackluster first year as head of the Democratic National Committee provides a metaphoric glimpse into the waning influence of the Democratic Party as a whole.

In an article published by the Financial Times on Monday, Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif laid out the country’s proposed framework for bringing stability to the Middle East region. "ISIS displayed the darkest depths of human evil,” Zarif wrote. Yet it also provided an opportunity to come together to battle an existential threat.

The world does not need another MSNBC. The world needs big, powerful voices screaming at the establishment which is inflicting unforgivable evils upon our species, voices which carry, voices with reach, voices which can actually make a difference.

Last August I made a note of the fact that The Young Turks’ Cenk Uygur had retweeted a fan who said that he gets his news from Uygur and MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow, because “they report the REAL NEWS.” I said at the time that this was Cenk’s way of officially formalizing TYT’s position as MSNBC’s ugly little sister. Opinion -- Days ago, the Democratic Party disappointingly caved to Republicans and President Donald Trump and ended the government shut down without achieving anything meaningful. They were promised the potential for action by Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell that could help 800,000-plus immigrants known as Dreamers avoid deportation, but
